Where should we check from?
Enter a target and we run one network measurement from the locations you pick. We do not store the query or the result.
Targets and results are never stored15 queries per 5 min per IP

What does Pingu do?
Pingu checks whether a domain name or a publicly reachable IP address can be reached from different cities, and how long it takes. Each query runs a single tool: ping, MTR or traceroute.
Which tool should I pick?
| Tool | Pick it when you wonder |
|---|---|
| Ping | Does the target reply, how long does it take, is there packet loss? |
| MTR | At which hop along the path does latency rise or do packets disappear? |
| Traceroute | Which hops do packets cross on the way to the target? |
Why more than one location?
A server can be fast from Istanbul and slow from Frankfurt. Looking from several points at once is the easiest way to tell whether the problem is your connection, the target, or the path in between.
Our privacy promise
We do not record targets, results or query history. A result is kept only in the tab that started the query, briefly. See the privacy page for details.
